Tēnā koe for your informative store about the history of Te Oneroa a Tohe, and of the origin of Ahipara’s namesake! Have you spent much time at 90 Mile beach? I especially loved hearing the respect that Pо̄roa showed his wife by naming the pa Whangatauatia, as well as the idea of the community respecting his passing with a moratorium (a ban) on harvesting life from the beach in his honour. I hope to see more of these great insights from you during the Summer Learning Journey 2020/2021!
